Scope and Contents note

Consists mainly of correspondence from various creditors and family members to Henry Warner Newberry, mostly concerned with H.W. Newberry’s debts. Also includes a “Petition of debtor—bankrupt” filed by H.W. Newberry in 1866, a debt receipt, H.W. Newberry’s Last Will and Testament, and documents related to receipts and disbursements on H.W. Newberry’s estate. Correspondents include John. D. Brown, C.C. McClure, John H. Knight, John S. Newberry, Cornelius Kennedy, Mrs. Jacob Beeson, H.M. Roby, Walter Cass Newberry, Ellen M. Brown, Elmer B. Adams, Eliphalet Wickes Blatchford, J.W. and S.T. Keith, and W.S. Sheeran.
