Correspondence and internal memoranda concerning a project to create "definitive, illustrated" editions of four literary works by American authors, entirely designed, printed, and bound in the U.S. with American materials. The illustrators were Rockwell Kent, Rudolph Ruzicka, Edward A. Wilson, and W. A. Dwiggins.
