Clippings of articles and reviews Cassidy wrote throughout her career, including her theater columns "On the Aisle," and "Europe on the Aisle," and her music review column "On the Record." Other works include clippings of book reviews, a history of Chicago's Lyric Opera, and materials about Tennessee Williams, whom she helped bring to prominence with her review of The Glass Menagerie in 1944.Transcripts from Cassidy's 15 year radio program on Chicago's WFMT-FM are also included.

Chicago Journal of Commerce clippings are scrapbook pages, and include some early "On the Aisle" columns. Chicago Tribune scrapbook pages also include some of Cassidy's columns, and may overlap with other Tribune materials.
