Incoming correspondence to Harris during the period he was president of CB&Q. The first ten boxes of letters are between a handful of executives including E. P. Ripley, T. S. Howland, W. F. Merrill, W. G. Besler, H. B. Stone and W. C. Brown and are arranged chronologically. The rest covers the same time period, but is more general in nature. Topics include road construction, postal rates, personnel issues, payroll reports, livestock, and freight and passenger rates, railroad equipment. There is also significant material on the National Irrigation Association, the Western Joint Traffic Association, and many personal appeals for employment and promotion. Letters are often accompanied by printed materials, maps, and blueprints. Subject indexes can be found at end of series. Note: several boxes of letters were missing at time of donation.
