Scope and Contents note

Letterpress books containing letters written from the Chicago office by Harris and H. B. Stone to various officers in the company, as well as other officers of other lines. The letters cover the end of Stone’s tenure at CB&Q as Harris took over the position of 2nd vice-president in April of 1890. This set of materials was an addition to the original donation. It’s possible that it was grouped with the Harris correspondence because the majority of letters (59 volumes) were written by Harris.
