Scope and Contents note

Thomas S. Howland worked in a variety of capacities for CB&Q, including B&MI civil engineer from 1868-1876, Secretary to the vice president from 1876-1884,, Assistant Secretary (1882), Secretary (1883-1901), Vice President, Treasurer, and Assistant Secretary (1902-1918), and clerk of Board of Directors (1897-1901) The series includes letters to Thomas S. Howland, and some addressed to C.E. Perkins, concerning Iowa, property valuations, road tax levies, pass requests. Included are some telegrams, 1875-76, memos, receipt letters (payments sent and received.).
