Scope and Contents note

C.M. Higginson was a B&MI purchasing agent from 1865-1875, and then a CB&Q purchasing agent from 1876-1893. The series consists of 2 letterpress copy books: Vol. 1 To William Irving, statements about material stocks (switches, guard rails, general supplies), construction standards, extra supplies, purchases of the railroad, storage places and materials, and the coal required for operations; Vol. 2 Mileage and costs (new and built), various accounts of all the railroads in the Burlington system, and interest payments.
