From the Sub-Group:

Outgoing and incoming correspondence related to B&MRR-Iowa operations, including the letters of maters mechanic George Chalender, treasurer and secretary J.N. Denison, secretary T.S. Howland, and legal counsel David Rorer. There is also a small series of letters to C.E. Perkins, who was general superintendent of the B&MRR-Iowa in 1872.

Biographical/Historical note

David Rorer was the legal counsel for the B&MRR in Iowa. Series includes incoming and outgoing correspondence pertaining to legal issues, taxes, right-of-way, stocks, state legislation and other matters. Incoming correspondents include J. N. Denison, J. M. Walker, T. J. Potter, and Robert Harris. Series also contains printed documents from lawsuits between the railroad and the Wapello and Jefferson counties, and other litigants
