From the Series:

About 30,000 letters in 29 volumes of letterpress copy books written from Burlington by Mr. Scott as agent for C.E. Perkins in charge of his land business. Some letters signed by C.E. Perkins.

To sundry persons about land and lot sales, contracts, etc., and to various CB&Q officials about their private land business and various land companies: e.g., Burlington, Creston, Decatur, Fontanelle, Northwestern, Page Co., Tarkio, Utah, Vancouver, Western Land associations; Carroll Co., Emerson, Lincoln and South Platte Land companies; Denison and Russell trusts; W.H. Forbes purchase; and F[orbes], P[erkins] & S[cott] accounts. Included are occasional long report-letters on economic and physical conditions of localities where land purchases were being considered (e.g., Vancouver, Salt Lake City, Galveston).

No letters for: Dec. 7, 1872-Dec. 5, 1875; Nov. 19, 1876-Feb. 18, 1880; Oct. 15, 1880-Feb. 8, 1882; Aug. 11, 1888-Jan. 27, 1889. Volumes are numbered 1-30; there is no volume 18.
