Scope and Contents note

The railroads had land agents and offices in Europe, charged with encouraging prosperous farmers to settle the Midwest. Additionally, CB&Q established foreign offices to increase settlement along the railways and to compete with other railroad companies. Includes two series of records from the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad Company in Iowa, and six series from that company in Nebraska.
