Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Journals kept in Burlington, Boston, and Chicago. Data included varies: 1869 (Burlington) shows temperature, train information, entries noting that CB&Q officials were that day in office or on special trains. 1876-1895 (Burlington) appear to be daily reminders of duties, crossed off when completed and notations of location of C.E. Perkins (e.g. at office, in Chicago, etc.). later volumes have decreasing amounts of sundry information but more careful daily notes about Perkins' whereabouts. Mostly in handwriting of T.S. Howland. Volumes for 1885 and 1887 (Boston) are fire-damaged and very fragile. Some journals lacking: Boston (1893, 1896-1900); Burlington (1870-1875); and Chicago (1886-1888).
