Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Albums (most of which are disbound) and prints mounted on boards used by the Advertising Department in producing brochures and other literature advertising the lines and various excursions sponsored by the railroad. Includes many views of national parks and tourist attractions in the American West, with some shots as well of world's fairs, railroad buildings and structures, and some industries, such as lumbering. More than 25% of all prints are of trains: exteriors, interiors, freight cars, mail cars, steam locomotives, Zephyrs, etc. There are a few images of American Indians dispersed throughout, particularly in some of the photographs arranged by state (New Mexico and Oregon, for example.)
