Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Correspondence and personal mementos of various family members including the children of Charles S. Dewey and Marjorie S. G. Graff and their families. Includes correspondence of Charles S. Dewey, Jr. while in China working with the OSS. These letters convey Dewey’s observations of the Chinese, and the cultural differences between east and west. Also one folder of correspondence with Chinese military personnel which seems to describe military operations. Many of these letters are in Chinese. Other materials include illustrated letters and envelopes of Jose Aruego, a few letters of Robert Graff and his mother Ann, and some press releases from the film production company Sextant Films which Robert Graff co-founded.

Both Kenneth Sawyer Goodman and Marjorie Robbins Goodman Hopkins’ families could trace their ancestries back through multiple generations, and included are some early correspondence and historical and genealogical materials from the Goodman, Robbins, Johnston, and Mathiot families. Also included in this series are the letters and diaries of Philo Wilbor, a close personal friend and travel companion of William O. Goodman.
