 File — Box: 5, Folder: 78

Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Correspondence, diaries, genealogical materials and other items related to multiple generations of the McNally family, including Rand McNally founder Andrew McNally, and his great grandson Andrew McNally III. Also included are materials related to the family of Margaret Clark McNally, married to Andrew McNally III, and Eleanor Vilas McNally, married to Andrew F.W. McNally. Margaret Clark McNally's adoptive family, the MacMillins, is also represented, as well as the Neffs, another branch of the family descended from Andrew McNally's daughter, Nannie McNally Neff. General Emmons Clark, grandfather of Margaret Clark McNally, wrote multiple plays and kept journals documenting his life and travels; one volume includes detailed descriptions of his life in New York City during the volatile 1840s. There is also bound correspondence from his son, Emmons Clark Jr., chronicling a business trip to Mexico and Central America in 1892, which included a visit to the utopian community of Topolobampo.
