Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Materials related to the McNally's Southern California property, both a second residence for the family and a working ranch. One of the first land developers in the area, Andrew McNally built a successful second business producing citrus fruit and olive oil. He was a strong advocate for the area, encouraging other Midwesterners to relocate and invest. Items include documents related to the purchase, development, and subsequent sale of the land, correspondence with longtime lawyers Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher, and lease agreements with various oil companies, recreational businesses, and the City of Los Angeles. There are also clippings featuring the McNally's Altadena house, as well as ranch publicity, researcher inquiries, maps, and materials related to La Mirada, the residential development built after the McNallys sold the ranch in 1953.
