Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Letters to Edward Price Bell from American and foreign political figures, journalists, and other public individuals he encountered during his writing career, as well as colleagues from the Chicago Daily News. Many letters include notes and comments in Bell's handwriting addressed to his wife Mary, or their children. Responses from publishers are frequent in the latter period of Bell's life, when he attempted to publish articles and stories under his own name and the aliases Rak Parke and Eric Bellamy.

Scrapbooks at the end of the series are comprised of letters from 1914-1915, and in many cases include Bell's reply.
