Press Kits - Goldstein, Larry, 1989-1990

 File — Box: 97, Folder: 1630

Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Publicity materials related to the MoMing Dance & Arts Center include clippings, fliers, newsletters, press kits, press releases, programs, as well as publicity material for other dance and arts organizations.

“Press kits” serves as an umbrella term for the wide array of solicitations (announcements, inquiries about instructional and performance opportunities, invitations, and performance proposals) received by MoMing. While the contents of each press kit vary, some items they may include are: artist and/or company biographies and histories, brochures, clippings, contractual costs/budgets, correspondence, fliers, invitations, newsletters, performance proposals (which may include choreography notes, scripts, set designs, and technical requirements), photographs, press releases, programs, posters, recommendation letters, and resumes. The performers for which the press kits were produced may or may not have ever performed at MoMing. It is important to note that there may be a press kit for a dance company and then another one for a director or choreographer associated with said dance company. The date(s), when available, reflect the date range of the materials in the press kit. Press kits also include those for members who performed as a part of the MoMing Collection, such as but not limited to Jackie Radis, Jim Self, and Eric Trules (Cumeezi Bozo Ensemble).

Scope and Contents note From the Series:

Boxes at the end are brochures and fliers for other companies who mailed information to MoMing but had no discernible ties to MoMing; these were kept as samples of the activity around dance and performance during this time period.

Scope and Contents note From the Series:

There is considerable overlap between the Publicity Series, the Performance Files Series, and the Photographs Series. Publicity and Performance Files include photographs; Performance Files also may contain clippings, reviews, fliers, and programs.
