From the Series:

Correspondence, biographical materials, honors and awards, travel mementos, and other items related to Hope Abelson's life. Abelson's contribution to the Jews of Chicago oral history project is particularly significant. Correspondence includes a series of letters to Hope Abelson from Lester Abelson while he was traveling in 1932, and letters to Hope from her mother, grandparents, and other family members. There a few letters from Hope Abelson to her children Stuart and Katherine. Also included are a series of theater scripts autographed to Abelson, information regarding her speaking engagements, documents related to the various theatrical investments she made, and research into the White Witch of Rose Hall legend, which she had hoped to have made into a play. Finally, the series includes materials related to an exhibit honoring Hope Abelson, which was presented by the Newberry in the Fall of 2008.
