Scope and Contents note
Newspapers and clippings covering the 1860s Dakota conflict and Mankato hangings of 1862, magazines, periodicals series The Indian in Transition, pamphlets and maps of various American Indian reservations. Early clippings from the 1860s are photocopies. 35 mm color slides depicting the Mandan and Hidatsa tribes, mainly by 19th century artists George Catlin and Karl Bodmer.
