Black Plumes, M. Allingham (299), 1942

 File — Box: 13, Folder: 369

Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Materials from design projects by Salter when he was based in New York. Job files include materials such as artwork (sketches, drawings, maps, illustrations, layouts, tracings), jackets, proofs and specs, and correspondence. Individual folders have symbols written on them that indicate the contents of that file. A key to these symbols can be found in the collection Info File, but have not been transcribed here. Each project was assigned a job number by Salter, or later by his wife Agnes, which appears in parentheses following the book title and author or editor.

Salter’s own handwritten log of his design jobs and annotated by Agnes has been individually cataloged as Wing folio ZP 983 .S17. The United States design projects are split between this series and Series 8: Oversize United States Design Projects due to size. See also Series 5: Miscellaneous United States Design Projects.
