Scope and Contents note

From the Sub-Series:

288 color maps, on sheets 100 x 155 cm or smaller, folded to 25 x 11 cm. Less detailed than Michelin's multiple series of large scale regional maps of France, these small scale maps primarily feature main highways ("grandes routes") and major roads. Coverage varies, with some sheets covering northern France, some sheets covering southern France, and some sheets covering the entire country. Includes multiple editions of most sheets. Most sheets at scale 1:1,000,000, except sheet 9899 at scale 1:1,100,000 (in 13 editions), and sheet 150 at scale 1:2,500,000 (in 14 editions). Sheet numbers include 96, 97, 98, 98-E.R., 98 et 99, 99, 99-E.R., 150, 721, 724, 725, 726, 792, 911, 916, 918, 919, 989, 998, 999, and 9899. Sheet 792 is printed on water-resistant and tear-proof material, identified in three editions as "haute résistance" or "indéchirable" (2006-2009). See also Series 2, Europe, subseries 1, World War II military maps, for variant wartime editions of related sheets 98 A, 98 B, and 99 B, and variants of sheets 98 and 989. See also Series 1, France, subseries 9, client and thematic maps, for variant or derivative editions of sheets 96, 98, 99, 916, 989, 998, 999, 726, and 9899; a thematic map of economic geography (1971); and thematic maps showing official administrative "départements" (1980-2002). See also Series 7, Michelin miscellany, subseries 1, cased maps, souvenirs, and collectibles, for 1949 and 1950 editions of sheet 9899 issued as adjustable mechanical maps in plastic map cases.
