From the Series:

Materials by and about Kate Newell Doggett, founder of The Fortnightly of Chicago. Primarily contains Mrs. Doggett’s writings, including an undated manuscript for a book on painting. This manuscript was mostly written on interesting scrap paper, including sign-up lists for “The Agitator, a Woman’s Paper,” edited by Mary A. Livermore; an appeal letter (in both English and French) from Julia Ward Howe; “To those already invited to take part in a Woman’s Peace Congress” from 1872; and stationery for “The Art Journal.”
