 File — Box: 10, Folder: 4
Identifier: Midwest MS Teich Co. 4

Scope and Contents note

From the Record Group:

The Curt Teich Company papers spans the years 1899-2002, but the bulk of the material dates from the 1940s-1960s. The collection consists of photographs, salesman materials such as pricelists and audio salesman training record albums (vinyl), real estate records for properties owned by the company, distributor information, financial information, order records, and some correspondence between company employees or customers. The materials provide insight into the business operations of the company. Box 7 consists of reference materials - information added to the collection as supplied by various sources (Ralph Teich, extended Teich family, researchers, etc.) There are additions to the records that have not yet been inventoried. They include about 65 ledgers of order files, approximately 1959-1975, and some miscellaneous ledgers detailing particular job runs (CH and CP series postcards, Miniature numbers, N, Miscellaneous, S, Old American Art Numbers, Art Colortone Numbers, and AH, BH, and CH series). In addition, there are large wire-bound postcard and printing sample books. Please contact the Newberry Reference Staff to gain access to those records.

Scope and Contents note From the Record Group:

Boxes 1-18 of this series were processed at the Lake County Discovery Museum by Heather M. Johnson, 2010; and Siobhan P. Heraty, 2015.

Order books volumes 195-258 use the volume numbers assigned by the Teich company originally; they are arranged chronologically by billing date. They are copies of invoices of postcard production orders compiled into binders. They include name of client, what and how many of each type of postcard ordered, production numbers, and cost. The volumes are in original number order: numbers 1-194 were not part of the donation from the Lake County Discovery Museum. Following those pre-assigned numbers are volume numbers assigned by the Newberry Archivist and are summary lists of orders, pre-dating the order books volumes 195-258.
