White, John W., 1928
Scope and Contents note
Letters and telegrams mostly relating to the articles to be published in the Chicago Daily News. Correspondents include mostly journalists: George Ade, Ray Stannard Baker, Edward Price Bell, Eugene Field, Henry Blake Fuller, Hamlin Garland, Victor Lawson, John T. McCutcheon, Edgar Mowrer, Paul Scott Mowrer, Hal O'Flaherty, Walter Robb, Wallace Rice, Graham Taylor, LeRoy T. Vernon, and Junius Wood. Some letters are personal in nature; others concern editorial activities. A large number of letters are from foreign correspondents, who are indicated as such in the inventory. Occasionally the letters are addressed to Victor Lawson or others at the Chicago Daily News; these letters were often redirected to Dennis with notes from the original recipients.
