Lydia Martin Edwards' incoming and outgoing letters include many letters from her husband during their courtship and beyond. A very ornate Valentine with an envelope from John to Lydia is included. There is also extensive correspondence between Lydia and her family. Also included are Lydia's personal documents, including an autograph book, Day/Eastern Star documents and members book, legal documents pertaining to the lawsuit over her father's estate, as well as documents about Methodist organizations (the Epworth League and Northwestern Christian Advocate). There are extensive documents pertaining to the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Lydia was a member of the WCTU and president of the local chapter of the organization for 16 consecutive years. Included are numerous papers, meeting and conference notes, lessons, booklets, programs, organization clippings and printed materials, and reports and compositions.
