Materials by and about four prominent members of Dankmar Adler's family: wife Dila Kohn Adler, father Rabbi Liebman Adler, father-in-law Abraham Kohn, and daughter Sara Adler Weil. Liebman Adler was rabbi of Chicago's first synagogue, the Kehilath Anshe Mayriv (K.A.M.) Temple, from 1861-1883. He published many sermons and essays. Abraham Kohn was a prominent Chicago businessman and founding member of the K.A.M. Temple. He also befriended Abraham Lincoln; and in 1861 he presented to Lincoln a painting of an American Flag with Hebrew lettering on it.
