From the Series:

Materials related to the ancestors, descendants and relatives of E.W. and Mary E. Blatchford, including correspondence between family members as well as personal items and biographical information. Of note are sermons delivered by E.W. Blatchford's father John Blatchford, and grandfather Samuel Blatchford, and a variety of items related to the Blatchford family, including the cookbook of Ulmenheim, the family home for many years.

The series also contains correspondence and items related to the Williams family, including John Chandler Williams and Edward M. Williams, Mary E. Blatchford's father and brother, and Williams family genealogical materials. The Williams family were early settlers in Chicago and the surrounding area, and some correspondence describes their relocation and difficulty adjusting. Other related families represented are Angus, Case, Collins, Craven, Judson, Moore, Porter, Scudder, Webster, Wickes, and Windeatt.
