Correspondence, artwork, school reports, clippings, and legal documents pertaining to Cowley's immediate and extended family. Incoming and outgoing correspondence are interfiled under name of relative. Most correspondence is between Cowley and the subject of the folder, while some folders contain correspondence between family members; in these cases both correspondents are listed on the folder. There is also a significant amount of incoming correspondence to Muriel and materials relating to son Rob Cowley's school and work. Some correspondence is to both Malcolm and Muriel. Where known, the relationship to Cowley is noted on the outside of the folder.

Original folder titles and comments were kept and placed in the front of the folder, except in cases that lacked an original folder title or comment.
