Scope and Contents note

Correspondence to and from others includes letters to and from friends and colleagues C.B. Cady and Otto Floersheim, and notable letters (one from Stephen Douglas) to Gleason’s father-in-law J.A. Kennicott. The letter from composer Giuseppe Verdi to composer Alberto Mazzucato is possibly a souvenir picked up by Gleason.
