From title page: "Programs of recitals given by the faculty and students, 1876-1884, collected by Frederic Grant Gleason.” The Hershey School was at 42 South Ann St., opposite the First Congregational Church, and later at 83 & 85 (& 87) Madison St., opposite McVicker’s Theatre. Organist Clarence Eddy was a frequent recitalist; Clarence Eddy was married to Sara Hershey, who lived at 42 South Ann St., and was perhaps the founder and benefactress of the school. Some programs hand-written.
