Scope and Contents note

Contains Dr. Gray's meticulous research notes, particularly concerned with the American West in the late 1800's, and most specifically with Native American-US Army relations and conflicts. Notes are extracted from diaries and reminiscences, Indian depredation claims, maps, Montana and Sioux City newspapers and the Rocky Mountain News, and veterans' records. alphabetically by type of source.
