Correspondence and other materials related to members of the Alexander and Waller families, particularly Eliza Weisiger Alexander, mother of Lucy Alexander Waller; William S. Waller, father of James B. Waller; and Susanna Waller Lees, sister of James B. Waller. Correspondence to Eliza Weisiger Alexander includes a letter from her nephew, Confederate general Daniel Weisiger Adams, and letters from her husband, Robert Alexander, President of the Bank of Kentucky from 1807-1821. William S. Waller served as a Commissioner for Kentucky under Governor William Owsley, and also Cashier of the Bank of Kentucky for a number of years, and the materials include documents related to those positions, as well as correspondence with Henry Clay and other Kentucky officials. There are also two slave bills of sale among the papers, a few clippings related to the Waller family in the Buena Park area of Chicago, and a biography of William S. Waller written by his son, Henry.
