Lardner, Bill (Ring Jr.), John, David, James, Richard (Dickie), and Tobin (nephew), from Ring Lardner, 1933
Scope and Contents note
Includes letters written by Ring and Ellis Abbott Lardner during their courtship. Also letters to family and friends. A number of Ring Lardner's letters (1907-1910) are in verse and are addressed to Wilma A. Johnson (later Wilma Ostrander), a Niles, Mich., friend, 1907-1910. They contain much information on Lardner's journalistic career and the fortunes of the Chicago White Sox. Later letters are addressed to members of the Abbott family and the Lardner children; many concern Lardner's song writing, his health, and other matters.
