Authors Guild - Stout, Rex, Chairman, 1968-1969
Scope and Contents note
Letters and notes to Royko from friends, colleagues, and notable people. Some items in this series were removed from Royko's "Scraps" folders [i.e., items to include in a scrapbook someday] for easy access; there are indications for the original locations for each letter. Letters from E.P. Dutton are related to Royko's books; most notably, the invitation from E.P. Dutton's Hal Scharlatt to Royko to think about writing a book about Mayor Richard J. Daley. The letters from Roger Ebert are concerning the play "Fox" that they co-wrote in the early 1970's.
