The Administration series is about 9 linear feet and covers the years from the 1860s to the 1980s. Included in the series are numerous groupings of records: Corporate Sponsorship, Correspondence, Facilities, Financial, Legal, Memorandums and Internal Communications, Personnel, Topical Files, and a General grouping that includes miscellaneous information. The Facilities area includes information on the Chicago, Hammond, New York, Skokie, and San Francisco locations of Rand McNally plants, offices, and stores. Corporate Sponsorship highlights a few events and programs sponsored by the company over the years. Correspondence spans from the nineteenth to the twentieth century, and covers a variety of topics. Financial records include tax records, appraisal documents, sales records, accounting, ledgers, and miscellaneous documents. The Legal section is divided into three main categories: contracts, copyright, and patents, and also includes a general category of materials. Memorandum and Internal Correspondence covers the years 1927-1982, and includes a few undated items as well. The Personnel section is divided into several categories: Company Literature and Publications, Clubs and Recreation/Events, Divisions and Departments, and a general category. The Topical File includes poems and information on the Kingdom of Humanity/Manity Islands Hoax and an anonymous case history of Rand
