Biography of Enid Eder Perkins
Washington, D. C. and New York City calligrapher and illuminator.
Enid Eder (later Perkins) attended Hunter College and studied art at the Art Students League in New York. Intensive self-study of medieval manuscripts at the Library of Congress and later at the Morgan Library in New York helped to develop her interests in medieval calligraphy and illumination. Ms. Perkins also studied calligraphy with Arnold Bank at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and illumination with Irene Base in England. She was self-employed; major clients included J. Walter Thompson, International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation, New York University, and the Pulitzer Prize Advisory Board.
