History of Helaine Victoria Press

Jocelyn Helaine Cohen and Nancy Victoria Taylor Poore co-founded Helaine Victoria Press, an educational non-profit organization, in Los Angeles in 1973. Cohen and Poore designed, printed, published, and distributed postcards and other ephemera on women’s history and culture. Their products were distributed nationwide through mail-order and retail. HVP relocated to Martinsville, Indiana, in the 1970s, and then to Bloomington, Indiana, in the 1980s. The press ceased publishing in 1990. In 1995, the press was transferred to the Suffrage Print Shop of The Women’s Rights National History Park in Seneca Falls, New York.
