Douglas C. Wixson-Jack Conroy research collection
Collection
Identifier: Midwest-MS-Wixson
Scope and Content of the Collection
Correspondence, research files and works, mostly relating to Jack Conroy and his literary circle.
The majority of correspondence, research files, and subject in the papers is related to Wixson’s research for his works on Jack Conroy. It includes incoming and outgoing letters, clippings, reviews, and other information about a subject or individual that was gathered for Wixson’s book Worker-Writer in America: Jack Conroy and the Tradition of Midwestern Literary Radicalism, 1898-1990 (Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 1994). Some items were also created or collected by Conroy, and kept by Wixson for research purposes. To the extent possible, those items were separated and interfiled into the existing Jack Conroy Papers.
Also included are other works of Wixson’s, and promotional material about the publications of all of his works.
