History of the Chicago Choral Artists
James Rogner founded the Chicago Choral Artists (then the James Chorale) in 1975 in an attempt to bring together a community of singers focused on creating beautiful music. The organization continues to perform throughout the Chicago area and abroad and have premiered both the classic composers and the works of Chicago composers through their concerts. They perform both a capella and with small orchestras. The CCA's 1998 Christmas album was named one of the best holiday records of 1998 by the Chicago Tribune.
James Rogner led the choir on a tour of western Europe in 1991, performing throughout Germany and Austria. He served as the artistic director until his death in 1995.
The choir changed their name from the James Chorale to the Chicago Choral Artists in 1997. The current artistic director is Michael Costello, who has served as director since 2014.

Abstract
Chicago Choral Artists (CCA) began in 1975 as the James Chorale before changing their name in 1997 following the death of their founder, James Rogner, in 1995. They continue to perform in the Chicago area, focusing on creating "a vibrant thread of music which connects the director, the singers and the audience" (quoted from their website, 2021).

Materials mostly preserved in original arrangement, with documents related to the administrative side of the organization largely kept together. Otherwise arranged by subject and thereunder chronologically.
