Nine volumes of newspaper clippings compiled by Chicago Sanitary District attorney Charles E. Anthony, mainly related to the publicity around the Chicago Sanitary District. Also includes clippings about Chicago events and politics.The scrapbooks chronicle the pre- and post- World War I development of Chicago's water reclamation challenges and achievements, the contemporary social and political climate of this period, and offers an insider's glimpse into one of Chicago's most significant civic functions.

Biography of Charles E. Anthony

Chicago attorney. Charles E. Anthony was a lawyer in Chicago, working directly for the Chicago Sanitary District. as of 1930, he was the Principal Assistant Attorney of the law and opinion section of the Sanitary District's main office.
