Biography of Martin J. Rock
Pullman Company attorney, 1947 to 1980.
Born November 21, 1919, Martin J. Rock earned both his BA and JD from Notre Dame University. After serving in World War II, Rock began his career as an attorney in 1948. In 1957, Rock was appointed Tax Attorney for the Pullman Company in 1947, working under Frank A. Malone until passing the bar in 1948. In 1960, he became General Attorney of Pullman, the head of the Law Department in 1963, and General Counsel in 1964. He continued to represent Pullman and its workers after the dissolution of the company in 1980. Rock died on October 28, 2011.
