Provenance

Collection originally started as a fine press ephemera file by Ernst F. Detterer, the second Custodian of the John M. Wing Foundation on the History of Printing. The file was continued and enlarged in scope by later Wing Collection curators. Significant numbers of items were the gifts from the designers who created them and from files of the R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company.
