Scope and Content of the Collection
Clippings, programs, and other printed ephemera about Mattei's dance career at MoMing.
Also included in the collection are programs and clippings about Charlie Vernon, Mattei's sometime dance partner. The clippings and programs, both in the scrapbook and loose, reflect the activities of MoMing from the late 1970s through the early 1980s. Reviews include performances of works choreographed by Jan Bartoszek, Laura Dean, and Vernon, among others.
There is one photograph showing Mattei teaching a children's class at Links Hall, ca. 1976. There is also (in oversize) a poster advertising an appearance by Meredith Monk at MoMing.

Biography of Nancy Mattei
Chicago dancer.
Nancy Mattei, with a BA in Dance from Columbia College Chicago, performed and taught (1973-1980) throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area, including the Navy Pier Dance Festival, Metropolitan Dance Festival and at MoMing Dance and Art Center. She performed in pieces choreographed and directed by the MoMing Collective, Meredith Monk, Andy DeGroat, Jan Bartoszek, Ruth Barnes, Charlie Vernon, Laura Dean and Jim Self. She was an Artist-in Residence and dance teacher at Urban Gateways and the Chicago City Wide Colleges.
