In the early 1980's the National Indian Health Board received a grant from the National Science Foundation to study ethical issues that developed during research in American Indian communities. Murray Wax served as a consultant to develop the survey used in the interviews. Although the project did not produce an interpretive report, he wrote an essay based on the data collected.
