About 6500 letters, mostly concerning insurance statements (cost of insurance for CB&Q), loss of property, including trains, buildings (woodsheds, offices, water stations), rails, furniture, car contents, and platforms. Correspondence also includes settlements and claims. Letters after 1898 are written by TS Howland.
