Noteworthy topics include: Government regulation of freight and passenger rail rates, technological innovation in rail equipment, the strike of 1888 and other labor conflicts, employee salaries and personnel issues, and financing and acquisition of new roads. Some of Perkins outgoing correspondence is filed in this series. Note: some correspondence was destroyed in a fire that took place in CB&Q storage.
