Scope and Contents note From the Series: Lily Venson’s research materials related to the demolition of the Edgewater Beach Hotel along Chicago’s northern lakeshore in the Edgewater neighborhood. The hotel closed in December 1967 following proceedings related to bankruptcy. The building was leased to Loyola University Chicago in the fall of 1968 for use as a dormitory.
